This classic, riverfront lodge offers rustic charm and serene scenic views, making it a standout for relaxation. While the accommodations are old-school and may require some maintenance, they are frequently praised for cleanliness and spaciousness, with excellent timeshare/condo amenities available.
This is a vintage motor lodge. Rooms are old and basic but the view was awesome. I was traveling to St. Lawrence University and this lodge was a manageable distance from Canton NY.
I stayed here for graduation, and the view was amazing. I can only imagine the hotter months when the pool is open, and there are water activities. The room was super cozy and clean, and it had everything you needed. It is dog-friendly for those who travel with their pets. The staff was welcoming and helpful.
The Windjammer Lodge is a great get away Lodge, if you're looking for relaxation and serenity. I have stayed there many times over the years and never disappointed. It offers everything, like an area to grill, an outdoor pool, a fire pit, picnic area, and plenty of lounge chairs if ya just want to relax and sit by the St. Lawrence River and watch the big freighter go by. It's a good place to see the sunset and the stars overhead. The scenery is incredible. The rooms are large and always clean. Rent is affordable compared to other Lodges that I have stayed in. The 1000 islands like near the Alexandria Bay area is only a half hour drive, and much cheaper and more peaceful than staying at Alexandria Bay. I strongly recommend the Windjammers.
Not a bad hotel. Pretty rustic. Has age. Room was clean and cold ac. Water hot. Ac very loud. Staff very nice and great breakfast. I thought little pricy for this type room.
25$ for a pet fee ( he is my emotional support animal with a letter from my therapist but they dont care ) Won't be coming back again
The Windjammer Lodge is old school awesomeness! Our room was spacious, super clean and comfy! The beds were perfect after a long day of travel, and the bathtub/shower were probably brand new, and great! The grounds are right on the St. Lawrence river, with lush endless green lawns and lots of comfy Adirondack chairs. Huge thumbs up for this lovely family fun lodge!
Stayed one night. Place was CLEAN. They provide a small Keurig instead of a coffee pot. I prefer that. Nothing really fancy. The AC did leak, but we just put a towel under it. Price was very inexpensive. Would stay here again. Did not get a chance to use the pool or other facilities.
Very friendly gentleman at check in. The location is beautiful, right on the St Lawrence River. However, our room was small and dingy. Really could use a makeover. Dark curtains, dark old carpet and the dresser was practically falling apart. However it was clean.
A very nice motel in a good location. Small enough to be quiet. We visited on Labor Day weekend, accommodations were fine. But we didn't have WiFi. When we visited previously their Mother location the Gran View Motel offered guest breakfast for free. On this visit there was a $8 charge and apparently not served on Sunday morning as no one answered the phone in the office. ??
